Daniel RayVaughn Johnson (born October 2, 1989), also known by the stage name K.YZ, is an African-American Hip-Hop Recording Artist, and songwriter from Norfolk, Virginia. "K" started rapping/singing at the age of seven and has studied and been heavily involved with music throughout his life.  He is exceptional with a variety of instruments, i.e. piano, violin, trombone, and percussion.  His lyrics are witty and progressive, with a heavy influence of poetic elements.  His rap style is flashy and rhythmic and ranges from a lethargic tempo to speed rap, with a versatile cadence.  K.YZ credits his influences in Hip-Hop to Jay-Z, Nas, Lauryn Hill, Kanye West, J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar and Drake.

On June 1, 2014,  K.YZ released his first mixtape titled "S.O.U.L. 2 Soul" under his initial alias "Ray S.O.U.L; a tape which featured his home-town anthem "No Place Like Home".  His next body of work titled "PagesOfPain LP" was released on Ocotber 2, 2015 under his previous stage name, "K.
